You can "eat" anything. The question is why would you want to?
If the Aloe product is 100% pure with no additives or by-products, then go for it.

You definitely can. The taste is an issue. The therapeutic part is the gooey meat inside the tough outer fiber. I have seen "recipes" for preparing aloe vera online. Try doing a search.
True story: I used to work on a surgical floor. There was a sweet little old lady who had colon surgery and developed a fistula from the intestine to the outside of her abdomen. She could tolerate clear liquids, but every time the fistula appeared to be healed and the doctors tried to advance her to solid food, the fistula would open up again. I bought her some aloe vera juice (which is a clear liquid) and encouraged her to drink at least a cup a day. Within a week her fistula had healed and she was on solids. She was still drinking aloe vera juice a year later when I saw her and doing great.

i suppose. you need to peel it of course. good for digestive disorders. alternatively, you can buy aloe juice.
"An analysis of the Aloe Vera plant shows it is made up from a large variety of amino acids, enzymes, vitamins and minerals and it comes closer than any other known plant to the duplication of life’s essential substances in the biochemistry of the human body."
here's a link for you: http://www.positivehealth.com/permit/Articles/Aloe%20Vera/aloinf20.htm
edit>>>btw, any living plant you may purchase was not grown as food and has been subjected to syntheic fertilizers and pesticides. you will need to flush these things out before consuming the plant. this is simple but takes some time. do not feed the plant any synthetic products. overwater so the salts in the soil are flushed away, let the soil dry and flush again. most toxins that are going to go away wil be gone in about three weeks. better still grow your own with only natural fertilizers and pest control.

why would you want to do that? It has healing properties, for the external body, but I've never heard about ingesting it.
