I don't think that is the case. The truth is that the US has been able to to maintain a free market economy and Europe has gone Socialist.
They smugly believe that they are smarter than us. But, the fact is that real GNP has been growing twice as fast in this country than in Europe over the last 20 years.
So, when they look over here and see what the "stupid" Americans have, they are a little bit jealous.

Not an inferiority complex but a firm grasp on reality. By any measurement US is the most accomplished country of the 20th century and will continue that through this century.

I have no bone with the American people and I applaud your achievements
It's the government policies in the world that is the source of the hatred.
Infact despite my anger towards the Government i am always happy to see an Americans and I have friends and family over there.
The policy that arms one brother against another is wrong.

There are many countries just as advanced as the USA technically, and culturally probably more advanced. The people there do not envy the US at all.

I am foreigner I never considered America a blessed country. America killed the wrong pig in ww ii (like w.c. said).
I am happy in EU.
