Why is the crime rate getting worse in Canada?

Especially in the Greater Vancouver area. It seems there are more punks/criminals these days doing random thefts, vandalism, credit card scamming, etc.

What reasons are there for this?

Because law abiding citizens aren't allowed to keep firearms. Criminals have no fear of the people, just the cops.
