I could not agree more!!
The world would be such a better place if society raised the moral bar a few notches. This theory of do what you like so long as it doesn't hurt anyone and don't force me to believe what you believe is crap.

i work in hollywood and it's next to impossible to get anything of substance made. stupid and dumbed-down sells, unfortunately. if people didn't watch the crap, the networks and studios would not make it. but if you compare the ratings - the nonsense draws bigger audiences than the thought provoking or enlightening.
are people just stupid - or have they been numbed into stupidity by the media of the last 10-15 years?
which came first - the chicken or the egg?
Cable has the best stuff now. films are slowly getting smarter and more independent again.
the biggest problem are the execs at these places - who are very insulated from the real world and don't really have a pulse on what most people want - just the edgy trends they think they can create or find.
it's changing though

Haven't you heard majority rules?? or the saying if everyone else jumped off the bridge does that mean you have to? Well that's what we are sheep..amongst the wolves just waitin to be slaughtered. It all started with that horrible rock and roll (smile) seriously that's what commercialism is all about make it seem cool and everyone should do it! I remember a time when most families had a mother and a father together for more than just sex and when crap like jerry springer was forbidden to be thought of let alone broadcasted on TV. Is it ok to agree with you?

I'll go along with that. I find myself watching stuff on Disney, too, just because there aren't any guns or explosions. It's getting harder to find anything on TV anymore that doesn't have a storyline about a killer or some other crime in it. I think people's morals have been lost. Does anyone teach their kids morals anymore?

Shakespeare's plays were considered indecent in their day.
Morals are about how you treat other people, not about how you choose to be entertained. And you don't get to make that choice for anybody else, so climb down off that high horse and start minding your own business, honey.

C'mon...even horrible movies end quite nicely. Don't blame TV or, for that matter, any advancement of technology and related gadgets for low morals. Everything taken in moderation does'nt cause any problems.

They've never found a better thing to do with their lives. Too much time to even help the Red Cross. Didn't want to get involved with a community or church function. I do apologies . This is and what is
called the "ME" generation.

I don't watch much TV. The commercials are bad enough! I do like antique road show though. TV has gotten ridiculous, it is definitely nasty, and not good for the mind and it gets worse everyday.
