Pull the metal case off of the bottom of the lighter so that you can see the felt pad underneath. Unsrew the little screw with a flat head screwdriver. Take the felt pad off. If your lighter is relatively new, just pour Zippo fluid, a little at a time, until the cotton is saturated. If you have an older lighter, pull out the cotton, fluff it up and then stuff it back inside before you pour Zippo fliud into it. Then replace the felt pad and the screw, wipe off excess fliud, and put the lighter back in its case. Hold the lighter upside down to saturate the wick if it doesn't light at first. This should work.

Open the lid and grab the metal cage around the wick, pull. the interior will come out.

turn upside down, there will be some foam with a hole in the middle, insert the nozzle of the lighter fluid bottle into that hole and squeeze.

That is how you re-fill a zippo.

Buy a can of petrol from a cigarette emporium, remove the outer sleeve of the lighter and let the petrol drip (don't squeeze the can) into the gun cotton inside the lighter, when completely damp re-insert it back into the outer sleeve and it should work OK
