Back in 1981... I scored (on the first try) a 590 verbal and 710 math for an aggregate score of 1300... which was surprising to me because I had a nasty case of the flu when I took it. I think I could have done better had I been completely healthy, but I opted not to retake.

1430 on the old one out of 1600. I was a great writer so on the new one I would have rocked. But I was a National Merit Scholar and got a better-than-full-ride scholarship to the college I'm at now. I'm making $1,000 a year for showing up to class, so it's all good.
Study for the SAT, it really makes a difference (over 100 points for me).

On the new SAT, I got 2060 out of 2400.
Critical Reading- 710- 96th percentile
Math- 690- 92nd percentile
Writing- 620
It's the equivalent of 1400 out of 1600 on the old SAT.

I took mine once when it was 1600 and got 1480. I didn't bother to take it again because my grades were bad so I wasn't going to go Ivy League anyway.
