I don't know exactly, but max. a few years are given for a simple rape in Hungary.
I agree it's a horrible crime, but we mustn't punish nobody by cutting of a part of the body.
Also, take into consideration that a rape is not always done because of cruelty. Sometimes the man thinks the girl is just pretending, and sometimes when drunk people are raped it's not as violent because the victim doesn't object and the criminal may not know he's not allowed to do it. Finally, note that a sexually driven man is not really in complete control of himself.
I think there could be stricter punishments, at least 10 years or so.

I'm from manila and they used to have the death penalty here for rapists esp those who rape children. But they took that away because this crazy government lets the church dictate to them. What about the rights of the victims??? I personally feel that all rapists should be covered in honey and fed to fire ants, then get the whole clan of the victim to slice him with a chef's knife and then rolled over rock salt before he's hung by the balls over alligators.
