It's when a religious person tries to tell you there is scientific proof to justify a belief in God, or when an evolutionist tries to tell you there is scientific proof to justify the belief that life began in a puddle of primordial soup.

It's a crutch for people who can't handle the fact that some things defy proof and rely, instead, on a very unscientific leap of faith.

Psuedo Science is a gag that looks scientific (it uses big scientific names, the "experts" run around in lab coats, etc.) but they really don't have the science to back up their claims.
A good example is Creationism (or "Intelligent Design" as they now call it). They have complex theories, charts, institutions dedicated to the cause, and they even debate, but when it comes right down to it they don't have the science. Their logic is fuzzy at best, their "evidence" is merely misinterpreted, and they twist the facts to suit their preconcieved notions. Science dosen't do these things.

Lack of understanding that a particular premise is based on theories and methods erroneously regarded as scientific.

Like George W's 'proof' that burning oil does not contribute to global warming, or that global warming is actually happening.

It would be only listening to the science that makes your beliefs seem to make sence.
