Weezer, that guy's right. That's a sign of chronic depression. If you don't have insurance, see if there is a state mental health department in your area that can evaluate you and prescribe something mild to start out with. Ask about Wellbutrin. It's for social anxiety, depression and sometimes smoking cessation, but it's not mind-altering. And no, I don't work for a pharmaceutical company. (But I do take Wellbutrin and it does miracles for my suicidal tendencies.)

IF you are given medication, one of the biggest problems is that most people refuse to take them regularly. Be sure not to do that.

Some forms of depression are situational, and might go away on their own if untreated. Many of us, however, have a chronic thing. You sound like a good candidate for either repeated major depressive episodes, or disthymia. Or both. If you haven't already, do seek out a psychologist to start with. Your general doctor can refer you.

Yes, there are lots of people out here that thinks of it everyday.
I cannot reveal secrets but one wishes for a peace of mind
concerning this ordeal. Some people have this problem and keeps it hidden cause otherwise they feel they will be locked up.
So their fear lingers and manifest in ways that is sometimes harmful to themselves or others. This type of condition can be very dangerous cause if someone pushes you to the limit under
pressure, you can hurt someone or perhaps yourself cause you
already feel fear and defeated and knows of no way out. Get help.
