Very simply. Imagine a piece of stone in the shape of a cube, about 4 inches on a side. That stone has volume of about 1 liter.

Now imagine that stone block being cut into pieces, each piece a little larger than 3/8". Each of those little pieces has a volume of about 1 milliliter.

Assemble the little blocks back into one big block. There will be 1000 little blocks, stacked 10 in a row, 10 deep, 10 high, all adding up to that original stone block.

This isn't one of those trick questions where I answer and then you're going to shout "YES THAT PROVES THE ATHEISTS WRONG" or something, is it?
