The Last Tsar, which focuses on Nicholas, is very good

It's not the most up-to-date book, but it's very well done. The same author has a new book out on Nicholas, but it focus more on just him and not so much the family.

The Romanovs is more up-to-date, with info on the remains of the family, and the controversies, etc also very good:

Both of the above are non-fiction

They have been shot in a room alongside with some servants. And for royalty, the toddlers have been residing particularly an eccentric existence-form.

Mely, head down to your local library as fast as you can. They have SHELVES of books on the last of the Romanovs. It's a fascinating subject, and with the continuing mystery of Anastasia, is likely to continue to draw the interest of researchers and biographers.
Enjoy reading about them because theirs was a unique lifestyle, even among European royalty!
