After vietnam fell, all of indochina fell to communism, and they slaughtered about 8 million people between them all.

We eventually defeated vietnam and they signed the paris peace accord. Aa year later South vietnam had an economic depression and couldnt afford an army, so the north just walked in.

The same rationale that we find in Iraq: American arrogance. The theory is very simple, people from all over the world formed a NEW WORLD in nothern america. Things worked very well for them and all enjoyed tremendous freedom and wealth. This lead to an arrogance that made them believe that everyone wants their lifestyle, with government systems that is like their systems. Even to this day they cannot believe that some poeple might admire them, but not wish to live like them.

to block the spread of communism - described as Domino theory - each small country that fell to communism's rule made the adjacent country fall - it didn't happen
