Sell by date?

Question

What the hell is a sell by date for on milk? Is that the expiration
date, and if it is why don't they say that "expires on Aug. 4 2006"
Instead its "sell by.." what is that. Its like, its still good to drink but get it the hell outta my store. How long do I have after the date?
I find myself sniffing it and wondering if milk always smell like
that or if its bad.

Try keeping your milk jug toward the back of the fridge. Also, don't drink straight from the jug. See if your milk lasts longer. If not, I'd start buying milk from a different store.
