Or is it only a concept... It seems it doesn't... it is an instant. Hard to conceive... maybe that's the reason that most of the time we are concerned about the past and the future and we forget the present... maybe that's the reason that we're constantly in the pursuit of HAPINESS... cos the present seems to be ignored... at least I can tell for the way in wich we think.

Interesting question... But i think that it's more philosophical, then scientific question.
I believe that there are several facts that people thinking about this question should know:
1) time (and space) are learning phenomena (newborn babies don't have this in their cognitive framework) - read more from Jean Piaget
2) question of knowledge is basically connected with this question (read Wittgenstein, Russel, Hume, Des Cartes, Plato's Teetet and other epistemology works).

Certainly, it does exist as all the concrete substances exist. Present is PRESENT. Present is built upon the past and the future is going to be coming out of the present. Past, present and the future are irrevocable stages of the time machine. Though it is an abstract concept, its actions and results are found to be in concrete form. Do not forget the past, put a firm step on the present and carve a better future. Happiness is an abstract concept again and it differs from person to person, from situation to situation, We have no other go except swimming along with or against the currents in the ocean of time.

It is an instant. But if we go deeper into the matter that instant is to be split into past and future. Suppose a round disc rotating on its centre. A point on the edge is moving faster than another point in the middle of edge and the centre. As it goes near to the centre the speed of the point reduces. The velocity of the point at the centre of the disc must be zero. But since it is zero centre we cannot point it out. The practical difficulty of reaching the theoretical precision. That is applicable in this case as well.

It does exist but you'll never prove that it exists. You could prove that the present existed, but you can only prove the present is real when it becomes the past, which we know is real. Regardless, the present might exist, but it can only be explained in terms of the past, so your original question can only be answered with another question - Does it even matter?

We live constantly in the present because it moves with us. It is just that our thoughts are almost entirely about the past or the future.

good logic...compared to the past and the future the present is just a speck...so most people ignore it as you say since they cannot realize the value of this little point in time that you have in your hands

Contemporary, (with Time)....
it flows..... like a river. If you take one cup of that river out, it changes the river and the cup of river water no longer represents the river...because you changed it. Now is. and then its history.
