I went into pre-term labor at 32 weeks. 2cm. and 85 % effaced. They gave me steriod shots in the buttox for my babies lungs. And then took the pills every 4 hours when I got home from the hospital for the contractions. Took them for a week and a half. Stayed on bed rest till 37 weeks. Started to do everything under the moon to get him to come out. My doctor stripped my membranes at 38 weeks. And I went into labor a day later. Everyone that I know who has gone into pre-term labor ends up going full term or close to. By the way my son was healthy and very glad they were able to stop it. And hoping it does the same for you. I don't wish it upon anyone to have to leave their baby in the hospital because they are preemie. That would be hard. So best of luck to you and your baby!

i took a lamaze class and one woman there said i think she was 2 cm and 7 months. she was still around for class at least (as i remember) til the class was over maybe a week or two (after she mentioned it). it really depends on the baby at this point. til your waterbreaks just remain calm. to remedy this your doc will probably put u on bedrest from this point on so that u will have a happy and healthy baby.

I don't really know hopefully you can make it to 37 weeks that will be great if you do, then you will be full-term. You should be okay just relax at home, stay off those feet!!!!!!! Bed rest thats what you should be doing. TAKE CARE!! GOOD LUCK WITH THE NEW BABY!!!!!

a few weeks before I was due the doctor said I was about 1 cm, I'm pretty sure it's normal... it really depends on your body, for some people it's 8 months or 9 months (normal gestation period), for me it was 10 (OMG, it took forever).
