My husband and I are arguing over this. I haven't slept in in over a year, he does every day. Is he entitled to all the rest, or should he share?

my wife and i tend to argue about this same subject...she is a stay at home mom caring for nine kids.....im in the military starting my days early ending my first job mid evening then going off to my second job husband/dad..anyways i often have the weekends off which i love to sleep in but i also consider my wife and know that she too may not go off and work but being a stay at home mom is a job all in its own....even though it is really hard for me to give up a sleep in day.....i do for my wife..and every other weekend she gets to sleep in both sat and sun...and when ever i have a day off during the week which isn't often..but yeah i think it should be shared...but some men aren't that considerate

Do you have children? Um maybe I'm thick or something but why should it be a chore to get up and care for YOUR children? Why do you need a lie in? Your children deserve to get up everyday and see both of you ready to make the most of each and every day. Someone with a terminal illness would give anything to have the time that you clearly want to squander lying there asleep! What kind of example are you? Get to bed earlier, get up together and try to help you're children understand that life is for living!

If he is refusing to listen to your side of the argument, why don't you get up early, but leave the house (go for a drive or a walk or something) which will force him to have to get up to the children. If you keep doing this, he hopefully will be forced to see your side of the argument, and may be willing to compromise.

It may not help you to be able to sleep in immediately, but may change things in the long run.

Duh!!!! You are a team..... On a team, everybody has their job. But in the down time, they should be allowed to rest the same. My Wife and I sleep in together. We can be very lazy sometimes.
