Oh dear lord. You didn't just ask us this one. As of today, a $316 Core 2 Duo completely shatters AMD's highest FX-62 (which is probably going to drop to around $800) all to pieces.

Intel dual core has better performance than AMD counterpart, but Intel chips are expensive. Do a google search for "Intel vs AMD" and you'll find the performance tests and ratings.

It depends on your use of a computer. If you're a graphics designer, or you play all new games, AMD would be a better choice, because it supports graphics better than Intel; but if you are a common user of a PC, Intel is better, because atleast one of the reasons is that it's much more common in the world & you can get better service from that.

according to me intel is better although amd isnt bad either. the only problem with amd is that its processor heats up to fast but theyve managed to tackle that proble in their turion processor using the new cool n quiet technology which i feel will increase its share on the market as amd is cheaper compared to intel and for home use amd is quiet good. the folks at intel are getting nervous!!!

Opposite way around, Intel chips heat up quicker.

Both offer about the same bang, but intel requires more of the bucks.

AMD wins for me, at least on my last two computers.

I'll choose AMD because it's the processor of my computer and it's also cheap and powerful.
