There's an old saying -
A good wife is a chef in the kitchen, a waitress in the dining room, a hostess in the living room, and a prostitute in the bedroom.

I am a good wife. Seriously. I'm awesome. I'm modest, too. I'm a complete throwback, though. I stay home b/c my hubby likes it, but we don't have kids. I do all the cooking, cleaning, etc. (I consider it my job) and he just has to worry about his work. I have a psych degree, so I play therapist and let him unwind when he gets home and get all his stress out. I'm his "prank monkey" (a term he heard on "The Simpsons"). I basically make him laugh 24/7 and encourage him in whatever he wants to do. He can talk to me about anything. I even started studying his comic books so that I would know what he was talking about and I even encourage that nerdy addiction. Seriously, what wife studies comic books??? I'm a built-in best-friend/sex goddess/Martha Stewart but not nearly as evil/ally/prank monkey. A good wife should try to fulfill as many needs of her husband's as possible (and vice versa, don't think you fellas are off the hook). I'm awesome.

A good wife is sometimes the daughter of a good father...or an overcomer of grief, bitterness and regret.
A good wife is sometimes a subtle, dainty waif...or an exciting, vibrant flame.
A good wife is a frugal, smart investor...or sometimes a silent, partner that does not compete for 1st place.
A good wife is assertive and focused...but won't bust your balls in the name of feminism.
A good wife will overlook differences, backgrounds and even current grievances and LOVE your family like they were her own.
A good wife is sometimes the result of being the right person NOT finding the right person.
A good "ANYBODY" can credit much to the ones that showed them love, initially and paved the way for a good future.

I would say that there is no such thing as a good wife there is only the husbands idea of a good wife. If the marriage is a success then both parties are good. There is no one side to this.

A wife is not an object so there is not an specif list of what she must do or dont.
If u want to get married u must think also in what are you going to give into this relationship.

A 'good wife' is such a subjective thing.....i guess if u can keep ur husband happy and he thinks ur great, then ure a good wife !! Then it does'nt matter if u can cook or no or if u can bring home lots of money ....

To me a good wife is one who complements you in every way. That is, you are a more complete person with her. She brings out all your good points and sees your bad points without nagging about them. She should be proud of you and you of her. She should be kind and thoughtful and patient. She must love you.
