In a baseball box score, what does the S mean.
I know it doesn't mean save because usually a batter has it.
For instance in this box score Barfield and Hensley have an S

Freaking idiots. It does NOT mean save, I know that. Batters are listed by this S. It doesn't mean single either, why would you make a whole stat just for a single.

It's sacrifice. Sacrifice bunt or sacrifice fly. It's not credited as an official at bat. It doesn't count as a walk. Therefore it is listed under the batters stats with an S. These other people are idiots.

For the particular box score you have as an example, the "S" means Sacrifice. They bunted to move a runner over to another base.
