Different genre and different style type directing. I love Tarantino, big fan of Kill Bill, Pulp Fiction and the likes, but Scorsese is a master filmmaker. His films Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas. In fact, Tarantino is the new Scorsese. One thing though, Scorsese knows better to stay out of his films, a lesson that Tarantino should take.

If you love classics and adult themes - Scorsese
Speaks to the common man - Trailblazer

If you love shocking realistic best ever "B" movies (I mean it in a good way) - Tarantino
Speaks to the rebel in us all - Trailburner

They are day and night.

Martin Scorsese is the better director. He worked with a lot of new and raw talent. He directs other peoples dreams. Tarantino dreams and directs his dreams. I am addicted to Dusk to Dawn.

Tarantino has made a few good movies, but it's not even close. Even Quinten would tell you that Scorsese is the better director.

Not a fair comparison. They deal in the same types of movies, but they do so in completely unique ways.

It's kind of like asking someone to pick between "Goodfellas" and "Pulp Fiction" as the best non-"Godfather" gangster movie. You really can't compare the two - they go in much different directions, and each has attributes that rise above and beyond the other film.
