No it's no the devil holding you down.

It's called sleep paralysis and I know of several people who experience it. Don't worry about it, though it can be frighting to not be able to move there is nothing wrong with you.

I'm afraid that the crazy sounding astral-spirit lady is probably more or less right in this case. I have had more or less the same experience a couple of times and it seems to be that as you wake up and you are more or less exiting the body you have a tendency to feel somewhat "stuck" as you awake.

It can be a bit of a scary experience. I think the best solution to it the next time it happens is to simply reallize that you are either all or half way out of your body. I mean, in all seriousness, how bad can that be?

If we can leave our bodies, well, that has to be a good thing, right...........

No. It happen to me too. And I don't think there is any devil or witch on top of me.
I think this sitution happens because our brain is active but our body has not receive the signal that the body is awake.
So the body can't move and breathing start becoming diffcult because you are anxious.
Try to sleep a little more when this happens. You will find your body more prepared.

The same thing happend to me. And it happens to many people. What it is though is that your spirit left your body while your subconcious mind was asleep (When people sleep, lots of times the spirit leaves the body, you don't know it but you know how you have those dreams that felt SO REAL? More than likely they were.) ANyway, you awoke before your spirit completly went back into your body and that is what caused you to become paralyzed. You need a spirit in your body to be able to move your body. It's called Astral Projection when you're spirit leaves your body. More info at http://www.astralvoyage.com/projection/FAQ_updated.html

i too have experienced similar thing, while sleeping felt - try to move hand and legs but couldn't, try to screem but no voice came out, something like some one pressing on me.......terrible. after that i consulted my doctor and he said on a very tired day this may happen to any one. its like the brain in sleep commands and the impulses doesnot reach the body part which is commanded. Its not a WITCHCRAFT. its just a temporary disorder of our consious and body co ordination. cheer up....

natie_05 is correct. it is called sleep paralysis. i looked up on it a little after it happened to me.
When it happened to me i could see, but couldn't move, talk, or even breathe. It felt like my heart was beggining to beat faster and faster then stop, and that's when i could move again.

and it wasnt a night terror cuz my kid has night terror's and she wakes up - doesnt know where she is - doesnt know who i am - she screams and cries.
but when ur eyes are open and u cant move - its evil

Yes it is. That's why you should always sleep on your back. If you sleep on your stomach he will hold you down and sodomize you for hours.

Just a dream. And one very creative brother.

If it was the grim-reaper you would not wake up, he would be coming to take you.
