No. Out of all the candidates the employer picked you out from, they assessed that you are the most qualified. This gives you bargaining power since you are highly valued by the company. Negotiating the salary does not mean that the company will rescind the offer. Since the company feels you are the most qualified, you should not short-change your own welfare. Especially if the company is pirating you from another firm.

One strategy is to always be positive about the job offer. Simply say that you love the job but you cannot seem to make ends meet. Request for some flexibility in the salary since you cannot justify moving from one employer to another. Ask for a salary range they are willing to give you. If it is too low, then tell them that a higher rank would probably free up the salry range upwards.

Ask them, is this all you have to offer me?

Negotiate as much as you can but, get that job. Be the best at your job and prove yourself. Fined a better paying job and get an offer. Take the offer back to your employer, let them know you have an offer from their competition and ask for more. LOL
