Apart from replacing the screen...is there any other method of getting rid of scratches on the screen?

There is a gel or cream that fills in scratches on your glasses lens out on the market. I'm not sure if it will work on your cell phone but you might give it a try. Try finding it online or at a specialty store near you. =)

I forgot the product name (sorry), but they sell it at Walgreens. It's a solution that fills in minor scratches (doesn't really work on deep scratches). I've used it myself, it works great... they sell it for eyeglasses but I used it on my old phone and it made the screen look brand new. Highly recommended, about $7, in the Hardware/Tools section.

you have to buy a clear cover plastic for your phone to avoid scratches

just try to rub the scratches off ..
