David Cross is the funniest stand-up comedian, Patton Oswalt is a close 2nd for stand-up. Jim Gaffigan is funny too...but not nearly as funny as David Cross and Patton Oswalt.

Red Skelton. Granted, it was a different era, when folks weren't so jaded from having so much entertainment at their fingertips, but he could always make you laugh - at his antics, or even at yourself. And everything was clean - it was humor for humor's sake, he never had to resort to the crude remarks, or the dirty language just to get a laugh - and to me, that is the true mark of talent. Bill Cosby comes in a close second for very much the same reasons.
