My wife and I will be leaving NC to travel to Garland Texas. Can anyone suggest a good place to stay? We would like a room with a small kitchenette.

Gee Thanks CJ. Do you really live in Garland? If so you must know a good hotel.

Actually, Garland is not small. It's a very large city. I lived there for 7 years, but I made my way back to Rowlett which is 5 min from Garland. I would suggest staying in Mesquite or even Dallas. Dallas is much nicer and they have a larger selection of hotels.

I don't know if Garland itself even *has* any hotels. However, the city of Richardson is just west of Garland, and used to boast a big Telecommunications industry, so there are plenty of hotels there for business travelers. There's a Comfort Suites on US-75 near IH-635; that'd probably be your best bet for location if you can't find anything in Garland proper. Just take 635 east and you'll hit all the major streets in Garland.

EDIT: I'm sorry I can't offer any personal recommendations. When my family came in for my wedding, they all stayed at the Clarion because it was close by; it is now something else, and didn't have kitchen facilities.

I'm not in Garland, but I work for a hotel in the DFW airport area. I know the hotel chain "Homestead Studios" has small kitchenettes in each room, so you might want to see if there's one near where you're going.

Garland is relatively small try Garland Inn's off I30 but your best bet is to stay in Mesquite very close and has very reasonable prices and a lot more choices. also there is a motel 6 off of I30

I used to live in Garland...stay in Dallas...Westin at Galleria is VERY nice and some have kitchenettes if I remember right. You can always rent a car and drive the 15 - 25 min drive. And plus Galleria is a VERY nice mall since they remodeled. Lots of nice restaurants like Grand Lux Cafe (had my 18th bday there). Some higher end shopping (Coach, Tiffany's, Sax Fifth Ave., Nordstroms, Louis Vittan (Sp?), Gucci, etc.) as well as everyday shopping (Gap, Old Navy, FYE, Macy's, American Eagle, etc.).
