Well he got wasted...drunk and drove and was pulled over for going over 85 mph. then He spouted a bunch of anit Semitic slurs and phrases to the cops. Bad boy.

The world is finally realizing that Mel Gibson (and his father too) are anti-semetic.
He was drunk and told the world his true feelings. Now he is trying to back pedal because he knows his career will go down hill, because Americans and Canadians will not put up with racism or bigotry.

Mel Gibson was arrested for drunk driving. He was real mouthy with the cops and yeah, he said some not-so-nice stuff. BUT he made a huge apology on the radio, in the newspapers, on the news. He felt horrible that he was such an *** afterwards.

America has a love affair with their heroes/royalty. The only thing that comes close to the size of the pedestal they place their heroes on...is the rabid glee of watching them fall. The news companies know this...and count on that paradigm to sell advertising space for the commercials that are placed between news clips of Gibson's fall from grace.,,,knowing full well that we will be tuning in, in record numbers....like drug addicts returning to dealer for more smack.
Still wondering why he is in the news lately?

He was arrested for a DUI, and then in his drunken stupor said some VERY offensive racist remarks about Jews. He said things like "They are the reason for all the wars and problems in the world" and so on. And then the next morning he said he has been fighting alchoholism for a long tim, he has been clean, blah blah blah and he slipped once and drank. He also said he aplogizes for his words but his little "speach" sounded more like somthing his publicist told him to say more that a heart felt apology.

i think he got caught drinkin and driving. and are you kidding me mel is one of the most famous guys in hollywood he has power that why every single tabloid in the country are talking about this incident. i know i read it today on the el paso times. remember dont drink and drive

There are vidoe tapes of him being out of control after going to the police station. They found open alcohol in his car and there were several other infractions.
