I would say it would depend on how much it suppots your baby's head/neck. If it leans back, has a safety belt and there's no way he could fall forward or out it's probably ok. Just remember he can't be responsible for supporting his head at all.

I couldn't have lived w/o ours. He was in it the day he came home. When the colic hit it was the ONLY way I could get him to sleep. Granted it was after the 3 hour screaming fits but he slep for like 5 hours in that swing vs the 1.5 maybe 2 he'd sleep in his bed. Use it now and enjoy the free hands for a while.

His head probably isn't strong enough to be in a swing, but you can use it immediatly after they come home. Just roll up two receiving blankets and put one on either side of his head to keep him in the middle of the swing. It's a real soother and lifesaver sometimes!

with a 2 month old, as long as you don't swing VERY hard, but slowly and lightly, it should be ok,
if youre still a little scared, try putting a towel or blanket between the child's head and the back of the swing, that way you can cusion it if you are afraif of hitting their head.

I would say when they're able to hold their head up....you can put a pillow beside the head to hold it up or find some other way so his head can stay up....swings are great and they really entertain the child so you can do housework or whatever you need to do =)

it just depends on how big the baby is and how big the swing is. if the swing has a buckle so you can buckle him in it justs depends if its tight enough so that he does not fall out of it. i started putting my neice in her swing when she was 1 mo. old. but then again she was a very big baby.

You have to check the box for each swing. We got one in the shape of a bowl chair that supports newborns enough they can use them. Uprights don't work that way.

I used mine, with all 8 of my kids at about 2 months. I always started them out with a blanket or cloth diaper rolled and placed on the sides of their head, to keep their heads from falling side to side.

My babies used it from the day they came home from the hospital until their feet drug the ground because it was the only way they would sleep. Come to find out my husband was the same way when he was a baby!
