My boyfriend and I are both mixed I'm white and black and he's spainard and mexican. Well on to the question. We've been together 4 yearsand we really love one another and are planning on getting married. But his parents don't want us too and at first I didn't notice it but now I do.... They don't want us together because of my race.... So how come with spanish families don't like their race mixing with another... Do you think thats right? I really want to know...

Well with out them justifying thats the reason, i wouldnt just assume it to be true.. it could be for a number of reasons that arent race related, and maybe u should actually ask them why they think its a bad idea before assuming.. BUT if your speculations are correct then tuff, if u and him love each other then they're oppinion shouldnt matter, ur not marrying them, your marrying him, and although they are his family, the moment he says "I DO" you are his IMMEDIATE family and anyone that is against your marriage or trys to become a wedge in ur marriage needs to be put aside untill they can be a positive influence and not a negative..

Good luck.. but id definately ask them "Why" first let them tell u their side u may be surprised that it doesnt have anything to do with ur race..

You love him because your heart has accepted him as your lover, not your family. What they ought to do is to respect your choice and help you where they can in building a family of your own, not getting in the way due to racial issues. Love knows no boundaries. In Africa we are marrying white girls and white men are marrying black girls.

You sound American and there the race issue should not arise, America is a multi - racial land and one does not need to look at race when it comes love. I love a girl whose language I do not understand one word and her culture and mine are so different they are like oil and water. My people respect that; they know I love her for myself not for them and matters of my heart start with me before the extended family comes in. Go ahead and marry him. In the long run your people and his will understand.

Mexicans look down on blacks and vise versa. No it's not right. But there's many things in life that just arent right. I've also found those that cry bigotry the loudest are usually the largest bigots.

i for one think thats with all parents no matter the race. it's the way they were raised. sweetie if you love your man don't let them make ant decsions for you ther will get over it and if they don't then it's there problem.. congradulations also!!so i say don't let them ruin your life it's not worth it. well good luck with your future and i wish you all the luck in the world!!

that's unfair... it's up to u guys if u really love each other.. it doesnt matter whether his family likes u or not.. what matters is that ur both happy and in-love with each other.... fight for ur love... gud luck...
