Why do the Israeli want to keep land that was never part of Israel?

Question

Israeli refusal to end its occupation according to the UN 242 resolution and Israel want to keep Palestinian and Lebaness land that was never part of Israel.
For the last 56 years the Palestinian Refugees are living in a United Nation Refugee Camps waiting for UN to implement the UN Security Council resolutions.

For the last 56 years Israel conducts collective punishment and state terror against the Palestinian Refugees.

For the last several thousand years, when a country won a war, it got to keep the territory it claimed during that war.

Israel is maintaining control over territories that it captured during wars that it won. Wars that Israel did not start.

As far as UN resolutions, how about the ones calling for the disarmament of Hamas and Hezbollah? We've all seen how well those were carried out.

Nobody is saying that Israel is entirely right and has never made a mistake or done anything wrong. But the issues are a lot more complex than one-paragraph explanations taken out of context.

Nearly every time Israel gives up some land that it took as a result of being attacked from people on that land, they are attacked again. They take some land to create a buffer zone in order to prevent being attacked again. Israel will most likely give the land back to the original attackers only to be attacked again and then reoccupy the land again....and on and on ....etc.

They built a wall around the land that they have to prevent being attacked and were criticized for that too.

It seems that some think Israel should neither react to being attacked nor should they try to take preventative measures against attacks.

Are you talking about Gaza, Sheeba Farms, Golan heights, or the land allocated to Israel by the UN in 1948? Also what do you mean by collective punishment and state terror? doesn't Israel have a law called the right of return?

If you want to get technical about it, the whole state of Israel was founded on stolen land.
Land that belonged to the Palestinians and their descendants now in refugee camps in Jordan and Morocco and elsewhere.
However, we should be charitable toward Israel for other reasons.

Now they are not seizing land just to have it. They are trying to rid the land of hostile forces and their weapons.
