Someone made a good point when answering one of the questions posted in the Literature section, that they thought that the real locket that held the horocux, was in Grimwauld Place. They made a reference to the fifth book when the kids were cleaning out the house, and found, "a heavy locket that no one could open". It has been said elsewhere on this site that Regulus Black, Siruis Black's brother, is the elusive R.A.B., and that he stole the Horocrux, and took it back to Grimwauld out of compassion for Harry (or Neville, since we know that the one to defeat Voldemort could have been either one). Some of this info is on Mugglenet.com (I think that is the website) and check on the Literature page for some more info. I'm a huge Harry fan, but there is some really great info in some of the answers from some really smart folks. As far as Harry dying....well, all good things must come to an end. And if he goes out as a martyr, well, we'll love him just that much more.

If Harry dies the book dies in more ways than one. As long as he lives all the back versions are going to be still viable sales situations but if he dies so do all those possible sales as who wants to read about a fallen hero.

I've heard rumours that Harry is a horcrux (via his mothers death), which means he would also have to die in order for Voldemort to die.
