i want to hear from ppl who have gotten it. is it cool and easy to use?

you know.. easy to use is something that is very relative.. it depends on whether you are used to using it :-)
I have been using gmail for a while and before that I was using yahoo and much earlier I had accounts with hotmail and usa.net
all i can say is
- i appreciate the LARGE amount of mails that gmail allows me to store
- i appreciate how easy it is to search through those
- i like how fast i get mails in my gmail account. it often takes hours before a mail that i sent to my yahoo account to appear there
- gmail does something calling bunching conversations.. as in if you sent a mail to someone and they replied and you replied back.. all the 3 mails get coupled together as one conversation. thats keeps the context in place for me..
thats not to say, i dont find anything wrong with them.. and that i dislike yahoo features.. but i am ok with using gmail.
i suggest you give gmail a shot, play around with it a couple of days and then make an informed decision on the same. dont take anyone's word on it

There's really nothing so different or special about it. It just another free email program from Google, just like Yahoo mail or MSN hotmail. The only differences are more storage and chat within the gmail.

I've been using it for about a year now, and I like it. It's got a clean interface, lots of memory, and it organizes your emails in to "conversations." Overall, it's the best free web-based email I've used. I use the search tool to find information from past emails a lot.
The downside is that it keeps everything in there forever, so if anyone ever hacked your password they'd be able to get a lot of info from it.

It's really easy, and it's got 2750 MB of space, which is huge. It also makes yo ufeel special, since you need to be invited to use it heh heh.

i'm using dial-up and it is smooth as silk
