I love this question, overly religious people feel they are doing well to judge and impose their ideas on others. Exactly what the bible tells you not to do. Judge not lest ye be judged. WWJD? Would he opress other people? Force them into submission with laws? Let's not forget we are not all Christians. Jesus taught love- didn't he? Love your neighbor, tolerance of others unlike you. If you feel you must reach out, do it on a personal one on one basis, don't try to force the masses it won't work anyway.
How do you know Jesus said that anyway? Because of a book that was written many years after his death and translated many times? Good luck

Even if religious beliefs are based on perfection, law itself is a man-made concept and it is nowhere near perfect. If there is perfection in the world then we don't need law to enforce anything. If there is law then we are trying to achieve a perfect state through an imperfect system, I don't think that is possible.
Now you may ask, why is the law not perfect. If law punishes people for their imperfection, then it must contain the absolute answer to any question, either something is good or bad. However, law is created by man, and man are not perfect, so law cannot be perfect, and so it does not contain perfect answer to every question.
Now you may argue that this is a religious law defined by God. But then, does God enforces its own law? No. So man are left with the duty and since man are not perfect, the enforcement for this law will also not be perfect.
What I am trying to say is, there is no such thing as perfection, neither is any form of religious beliefs. On what standards are these perfections based from? They are based from those who belief in their God, and everyone else are imperfect according to their judgements. Is this morally correct? No. Because you are not perfect, so your judgement will not be perfect.

One of my biggest pet peeves is the assumption that everyone is a Christian. I am not. I don't push my beliefs on any one but I do tell them about them if they want to hear. In this country at least (supposedly) there is a freedom of religion, not just freedom of Christianity. We shouldn't argue every idea or law from the bible, I don't fallow the bible, but I'm a good person. I haven't killed anyone, stolen anything (ok maybe as a kid... but who hasn't?), I haven't hurt anyone on purpose, and feel for people who have less then I do. I give all I can to help people. And I don't condemn people who live differently then me. Am I a terrible person?

I would never force my own religion on someone, but I don't think that it is bad for you to tell someone about your religion if they want to hear it. There is always good and bad preaching, I think. There is the bad one where you are telling someone that they must beleive or they'll die or go to hell. And then there is just informing people.

instead we must enforce all not to believe in religion. as long as religion is there, we will never stop slaughtering each other. that's the first rule of religion.
kill and be killed, to safe guard ur beliefs.

So many wars have been fought over the bible and land (Israel). If the bible is so holy, why is it frothed in blood?
Religion and spirituality should be sacred and not a matter for the government -separation of church and state!

No, but I am willing to bet that will be one of George W. Bush's last acts of his presidency, to declare an official state religon of Protestant Christianity.
Watch and see, I bet he does it!
