People have a lot of good answers. If you have a good computer and a fast hook up like DSL you need to check out Google earth. It is awesome. Also check out museums some have virtual walk threw. You can also go to Discovery.com and watch the new Panda Bear that they have at the zoo. They have a live video link. If you need help you can E-Mail me at nrmstok@eartlink.net. Google Earth is a free down load. And so Is Google Sketchup. You also can down load Google SketchUp you can draw 3D drawings and it is real easy. Just listen to the tapes and they walk you threw it and you will be a pro at know time. Get the Omar Sharif contract bridge CD and teach yourself contract bridge. Then play it on line with others.

You will be SO AGGRAVATED for SO LONG on how tough it is to learn... then, one magical day, you'll bid and make a "slam"... and everything will be worth it. A competent bridge player is never bored. It also changes the way you think, particularly, bridge alters how you make decisions on incomplete information.

Another thing you can do is get up early, about 45 minutes before dawn, and go to the "transition area" and watch for birds. Learn to identify birds (use the Peterson Field Guide to Eastern or Western birds). This teaches you to pay very close attention to what you're seeing and doing.

A "transition area" is a border where trees meet a meadow, it's where you're going to see most birds and wildlife. Once you have most of the local birds identified within close range of home, go to other transition area by car and find the birds in that locale.

If you watch nature closely enough, it is never boring.
