"There are some good people in the world who are homosexuals, but there are no good people in the world who are bigots."

Why isn't it a victimless "crime"?

I have a hard time agreeing with the statement because I don't see most people in terms of good vs. bad. There are some people with an exraordinary amount of evil but none of us are purely good.

There are very few of us who are not bigoted in some way. I for one always expect people from Oklahoma to be a little dull, both in the sense of not bright and not interesting. I am wrong. I know I am wrong. Still, it is somewhere in the back of my head and when I fight it, I still find myself not giving them credit. Fortunately I have never been in a position of any power over an Oklahoman.

I do believe that bigotry is one of the worst characteristics a person can have. I just don't believe that good or evil and bigot or non-bigot are neatly enough divided to say that a person with a drop of bigotry is evil or that anyone who does not is good.

I know many homosexuals who I would consider more to the good side. I was raised by a very loving lesbian. I consider her as good a person as I will ever meet. I have been to several gay weddings and I consider them every bit as valid as any other.

I would definitely say that there are no victims of gay marriage.

The first part of your comment is easy to deal with. Since I know some honest and decent people of the homosexual orientation, then the first part of your comment is agreeable.

The second part is harder as it requires affirmative evidence to prove but a single exception to disprove. However, I'll see what I can do with it. Does being a bigot negate a person being good? I could presume that a guy, happily married with children, attends PTA meetings, volunteers at the local homeless shelter, and run errands for home-bound senior citizens, sees a couple of men and thinks that it's disgusting. That would be prejudice.

Bigotry is where he would act on that prejudice in a negative manner, such as shout epitaphs at the couple, or sack one of them if that one was his employee, or worse still come out swinging a baseball bat. Obviously bigotry is a bad thing.

I remember a good dating rule. If your date is nice to you but rude to the waiter, then s/he is not a nice person. I think applies here. Being prejudiced is not enough to negate goodness. Bigotry, however, is as it reveals one's true nature. Being a good person means more than just being good to some people, but at least not being bad to everyone else.

Hence, I will agree with the second part of your comment and thus the comment as a whole. Hope that helps.

You are about to get flooded by a Torrent of "Biblical Babble" of Biblical Proportions LMAO

You know that the Religious Dogmatic Ones can use Biblical Babble to prove anything and everything without any proof whatsoever!

So, be careful, before they use the Biblical Babble to prove that you don't exist! LOL 8-)

Gay people were made just like Christians were and deserve the same respect and benefits Period!

In other words, if God made Christians he made Homosexuals too and as such they are God's creatures just as much as Christians except for the Bigoted Christians of course 8-P

Your question insinuates that people who disagree with the homosexual agenda or believe that it is sin are considered bigots and are therefore no good. I've probably met more homosexuals who are biggoted towards christians than I have christians toward homosexuals and I've known alot more christians.
The gay community preaches understanding and acceptance and yet they are more narrow minded in their ideals than the ones whom they condem.
Jesus taught that love is all inclusive, friends, enemies, sinners, it didn't matter. He also taught that there will be those who reject the truth, who reject God because they want to follow their own lusts and desires, this hasn't changed. People may not represent these truths correctly but the principles remain the same. Where sin abounds, grace abounds all the more, unfortunately there are many who reject that grace.

Gay marriage is a victimless crime?

As far as tolerence for others...I think its over rated. I think people are FORCED to accept others and that isn't right either.

People should be allowed to feel how they feel whether or not it makes someone feel uncomfortable.

Bigot, in itself describes someone who is filled with hatred. Therefore they have forfeited their goodness as a trade in for social ignorance. Their victims span across the board; by simply existing. Indeed, there are some good people in the world who are homosexuals.

I agree. I have family and friends that are gay and are good people. Just like I have straight family and friends that are good people. Bigots on the other hand are hateful and not good people.

I get your point, but we have to be careful when we point fingers and assign labels. I know people who have bigoted attitudes about inclusion of homosexuals in the church or other aspects of society, but who have in other aspects of their lives made some significant positive contributions.

We are all sinners. None of us leads a perfect life. Bigotry is but one of many sins committed by mankind.

Yep I agree completely.
To the person who said that homosexuals don't deserve the benefits that are for child bearing couples, by your reasoning then couples who choose not or can't have children or adopt children don't deserve them either.
