Actually, you can't. Until a baby is born, it is impossible to know with 100% certainty whether it's a boy or a girl (even at birth, it's sometimes impossible to know). All tests have failure rates, so don't count on any of them being correct unless you are willing to be disappointed.

G'day Jaspreet,

You could have an ultrasound done.

The gender of the baby can usually be determined by ultrasound at any time after 16 weeks, often at the dating scan around 20 weeks into the pregnancy depending upon the quality of the sonographic machine and skill of the operator. This is also the best time to have an ultrasound done as most infants are the same size at this stage of development. Depending on the skill of the sonographer, ultrasound may suffer from a high rate of false negatives and false positives. This means care has to be taken in interpreting the accuracy of the scan.

I would speak to your doctor about having one done.

I enclose information for further reference.

Regards

Although its not 100% guaranteed, you can go to storknet.com and check the chinese calendar which was correct with both of my children, or you could go to fortunebaby.com and there is a gender prediction test on there where you put in some info and then pay like 17 dollars and it uses some formula to come up with the sex of the baby somehow. It was correct with mine. Good luck and congrats

I knew, by ultrasound, that I was having a baby girl when I was 16 weeks pregnant. Sometimes it takes longer to know for sure. By 21 weeks for sure your doctor should be able to detect the baby's sex.

get an ultrasound. depending on the development of your baby and the position in the uterus, this can be as early as 4 mos. however, for a high possibly that it is correct, better at around 6 mos. you must remember that this is not 100% accurate.

Finding out the Sex of your child is actually pretty easy. just ask the Doc to tell you... there are a couple of different tests that are NON-Invasive, and give a darned good Idea... although the Easiest is a sonogram, it's NOT totally "fool" proof... the Doc for my second child SWORE it was a girl...( I guess he thought it was a leg...)BOY, was HE suprised!

Get a free ultra-sound. I'm surprised that many to-be-moms don't know much about this, but many university hospitals, local Christian-based hospitals, and even many local mom and pop medical centers offer pro-bono (free of charge) ultrasound for those who can't afford them. Doesn't hurt to ask around.

ultrasounds work for that around 5 months... or mothers intuition may work for you. you might get that strong gut feeling that you already know what it is. also... it is said that the gender of the baby is usually determined by the fathers side, so see what they have more of... that doesnt always work though

There are special tests that doctors can schedule for you but they cost a lot of money and may not be covered by any health insurance you have. Just be surprised - it really is more fun that way!
