Giving up may not always be a sign of weakness or some unhealthy attitude in life. On the other hand, giving up not to give up maybe one of the greatest challenges that confronts a lot of people in the world today.
To give up something could be one's greatest achievement. Like giving up smoking or drinking or drugs, despite you enjoy it a lot. Isn't it? Also, sometimes our “false” pride is one of the hardest thing to give up but to have given it up may have made us reach higher accomplishments in life.
However, to give up on something with what you think has one of the greatest value in your life maybe tantamount of deterring all your hopes and dreams. And so you must never give up or it's like killing yourself.
May you always prosper.

Depends. Some things aren't worth giving up on, but then again some things were wrong to believe in to begin with.
The answer to this question lies in finding that dividing point and asking yourself: "Am I really right in supporting this position, or am I just being pigheaded and refuse to face the truth?"
Unfortunately, far too many people are willing to believe the former rather than admit the latter.

You need to look within yourself and narrow your question down. As long as you have love for yourself you will never give up on the positive things in life.

You should never give up on anything, unless you know for a FACT it can't be done.

When I've given my best and realize there is nothing in my power that I can do. Then, I give up. Move on. Conquer something else.

I would say never...with some exceptions.
When your forward momentum stops and continuing starts causing you more greif than the goal is worth...stop.
When your health is at risk....stop.
When it hurts stop.
It all depends on the task you are doing.
