Oh my goodness,

SEOUL!

You must come to seoul, I've been to both Tokyo and Seoul, but my true love Is in Korea. Korea in my oppinion has a much more placid atmosphere but with just as many things to do and see in Tokyo.

right now i live in bucheon which is 30 minutes away from seoul. you have no idea how incredibly nice koreans are especially to people who are trying to learn their language, just being a foreigner gives you some kind of power.
seoul is like one big unstopping machine, with lights and big screens all over the place. and you should especially come now since korea economy is doing great. you can go to Namdaemun market and get virtually anything you want for rock-bottom prices,

the language has the easiest phonetical structure in the world and korea boasts with the highest literacy rate in the world at over 97%. you don't have to worry about learning chinese characters, because unlike japan, korean barely uses any of them. there are only 24 letters to learn so this should be very easy. the language is fun, you can make up your own phrases and about 80% of the time you'll be understood. Korean love it when foreigners try to speak their language.

- Just keep in mind, For Japanese, you will have to learn 2 alphabets of over 60 letters each and in addition, a thrid alphabet made of thousands of Kanji (chinese characters)

i can't even begin to tell you about the culture. Mask dances, honey-filled ricecakes, delicous grilled ribs, soccer, incredible palaces and structures. Pan-sori music, heated floors, these are just a few of the millions of things you'll get to experience in korea

you won't have to worry about language barriers either because most koreans speak enough english. all are required to learn in elementary school and up. plus you'll be able to get any essentials you need at modern stores and restaraunts. oh and the cost of living is VERY cheap.

I hope this gives you some insight and whatever path you choose i hope you go far and succeed. for more info here's some sites you can visit and thanks! i enjoyed answering this question!

Seoul And Tokyo

Lived in Tokyo for 4 years and been to Seoul twice. I will be going to Seoul again this year. I prefer Seoul over Tokyo but maybe cause I have lived in Tokyo a lot longer. Seoul night life seems a lot better than Tokyo. Tokyo is a lot cleaner than Seoul. It all depends on what you are looking for. I like Korean food better than Japanese food. I was just in both cities in December. I went to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Jeju Island and Seoul.

Ooh! Good question! You can do similar activities in both cities: visit temples, go shopping, sing karaoke, drink rice wine, commute via crowded subway train, etc. I lived in Tokyo for 3 years and I LOVED it, but honestly, if I had to start over again and I didn't have any connections to either place, I think Seoul might be easier. The language is phonetic (Japanese has 3 alphabets, not to mention thousands of Chinese characters that have to be memorized!) and the cost of living is MUCH cheaper. Last question: do you like spicy food? If so, Korea's for you. Oh, and by the way, it's easy to fly between Seoul and Tokyo, so whichever one you don't pick to live in you can always visit.

Seoul is the capital of Korea and it's around 600 years of history and you can now learn it with hotelbye . Seoul is the heart of Korea's culture and knowledge as well as politics and economics. Seoul is house to numerous old ancient web sites like Gyeongbokgung and Changdeokgung Palaces, and areas of old-fashioned lifestyle like Bukchon Hanok Village, Insa-dong, and Namdaemun Market. The shopping and leisure districts of Myeongdong and Apgujeong, and Asia's greatest undercover buying center COEX Mall also bring a big number of tourists every year. In just one single term, Seoul is amazing, is a town worth visit.

Tokyo is the capital of Japan, and the place where over 13 million people live, making it one of the most populous cities in the world but also, a big city to visit, find out more with hotelbye . Most of the city was devastated by the Great Kanto Earthquake of 1923, and then again by the bombing in the WWII, however, Tokyo was able to achieve a remarkably rapid recovery both times. The main attraction of Tokyo is the Imperial Palace with its beautiful 17th-century parks surrounded by walls and moats. The palace is still in use by the Imperial family.

I've lived in Tokyo my entire life, but all the foreigners I've known have loved it dearly. (Except for the high prices, maybe...) I guess it can be expensive, but Tokyo is a very interesting city. It's easy to go anywhere because the trains are great! I've never been to Seoul, but I'm guessing it's much more convenient to go to the countryside in Japan than anywhere else in the world. If you want to be more active, then Tokyo if probably better, but if you just want to stick to the language study, then Seoul might be better??

Well..
I'll give you the right answer..!!
It depend on your decision but I prefer Seoul.
Yeah, I been both Tokyo and Seoul but the Japanese people can not speak English..(There are few who speaks English Fluently..)
But Seoul there are a lot who are fluent in English and you will feel more comfortable cuz prices are not so high and you can communicate with in English(if you are not really fluent in Korean).

It's your decision anyway but hope you go to Seoul..
Good luck to you.~!

Are you asking which country I prefer to, Japan and Korea? I think it's quite inadequate of you to ask such a question here. Even though you get some answers, they are just their preferance and have nothing to do with your decision. You won't be able to master a language without purpose.
