The internet will not destroy anything. On the contrary, it's brought people together.

Let's use this exact forum as an example. You can see opinions and ideas from people all over the world. In a larger sense, we are all learning that we are not so different after all.

I think seeing ideas and answers from a global community reaffirms a bit of faith in humanity. The overwhelming majority of people on the planet have very similar values.

We all agree it's best to be honest, to treat your fellow man with respect, to have the freedom to love who you choose, and to protect the innocent.

I feel this kind of exchange will open more doors than it closes.

I've had the luxury of travelling all over the world, and I'm still amazed people are as similar as they are. The overwhelming majority are good, fair, honest people worthy of trust and respect. They want peace and fairness for all people.

It's the extremists who seem to cause the most trouble.

I feel the internet can serve the world society in many ways. Some have already mentioned commerce, but as a tool to educate and communicate it's better than anything we ever had before.

As for the moral question - I think those whose morals are destroyed have issues far beyond the internet, and I'm convinced their morals were gone long before they logged in anywhere.

The internet has served to expose the truth in many scenarios and situations already. If the internet is nothing else, it's a source for people to get information out to the rest of the world, and that is invaluable.

The internet is an invention like anything else to make thing easier. Also, like anything else, it can be used for good or bad. Try focusing on the good and beneficial sides of the interenet instead of only the sides of its imperfection.

No,it's not the end of us,it's just making us more jaded and numb so that the real end will sneak up on us and we either won't know it or care as much when it gets us.

I wonder myself what our lives would be like without all the technology we survive on. Would life be simpler? -In someways, before cell phones or even answering machines, people had more time to think and relax.

Not really. It's the same good and bad choices we have to face practically everyday. It's your choice to go to porno sites or reasearch about your homework or go to sites where you can learn interesting facts.
