my husband's workmate just got out of prison a year ago for murdering a man who raped and murdered a 9 year old girl. he has a very high paying blue collar job. i don't know that he'd be able to get a white collar job though, but they don't hold it against him where he is now.

They never go away. And no he won't ever get a good white collar job. What he should do is open a construction company or something where he is the boss. There isn't anything in the bi laws that say he can't open a business. A lot of peoples business insurance won't cover felons, plus its really hard to trust a person with felony B and E or robbery in your business.

I think that they usually ask if you've been convicted of a felony in the last seven years or something like that. After ten he might not need to worry about it... not sure though.

I don't know, but I sure hope that it won't effect him if he has changed and obviously has changed his life. One shouldn't have to suffer for the rest of their lives for one mistake. He didn't kill anybody for crying out loud. Send my best wishes to him.
