Chronic yeast infections can sometimes be an indication for diabetes. However, ifthat is rules out and you have the same sex partner, he could be infecting you. Males can often be carriers of yeast infections without any symptoms. My suggestion would be for him to be checked out as a possible carrier. In addition, you should not have sexual intercourse during the treatment. And, yes, the yeast infection can make sexual intercourse painful and unpleasant. The vaginal tissues are irritated and the penetration and the rubbing will irritate the vaginal tissues even more.
Other suggestions for preventing yeast infections taken from the link given below:
"How can I avoid getting another infection?
Here are some things you can do to help prevent another yeast infection:
Don't wear tight-fitting or synthetic-fiber clothes.
Wear cotton panties.
Don't wear pantyhose or leotards every day.
Use your blow dryer on a low, cool setting to help dry your genital area after you bathe or shower and before getting dressed.
Wipe from front to back after using the toilet. This may help prevent the bacteria that normally live in your rectum from getting into your vagina.
Change out of wet swimsuits or other damp clothes as soon as you can.
Don't douche or use feminine hygiene sprays, deodorant sanitary pads or tampons, or bubble bath, and avoid using colored or perfumed toilet paper. These items seem to affect the balance of acidity of the vagina and can lead to symptoms of a yeast infection."

I too suffer from chronic yeast infections. You mention diabetes - it does not cause yeast infections but can make it hard to clear them up.
The yeast may have you irritated and then when you have sex if you are not lubricated enough it becomes painful.
To get mine under control I took acidophilus pills. I could not stomach eating yogurt daily. You should also wear only cotton underwear.
I finally got mine where it was mostly on the outside (according to gyn). Recently he recommended a product called Rephresh. It actually changes the ph level of the vagina. It says it lasts 3 days. And that possibly after using it several times I may not have to use it again. Yeast likes alkaline ph and if this gets it reset (acidic) for long enough the yeast should die back down to a normal level. I was inquiring about a safe way to have oral sex and he said you can go 7 days between uses and do not have to use it all the time. By the way he said to follow up with scope after oral sex to prevent thrush.

Although yeast infection (known by the names of Candida, Monilia or Thrush) is in fact a very common condition, (as three out of four women develop it at some point in their lifetimes), it is little discussed. Most people regard candida infection as a ‘on the surface’ problem that should be treated with creams and antibiotics whereas few are aware of its potentially risky complications. So going to doctors it's a bad idea not because it makes you feel uncomfortable, it's because they will prescribe antibiotics until something works, it could take even 1 year to treat a yeast infection like this.
To effectively overcome candida infection, you need to be aware of the real cause of yeast infection and be able to identify its symptoms. You need to know how to self-test and diagnose your candida condition, learn about the dietary principals needed to maintain a candida free environment and about the complimentary treatments that will help you battle against the negative effects and complications of your yeast infection.
Read "Yeast Infection No More" BY Linda Allen ( electronic format @ http://www.candidayeastnomore.com) It's about how to naturally and permanently eliminate your yeast infection without drugs, creams or any kind of gimmicks.

For years i had the same problem u do. It ruined my first relationship. From what i have researched the most likely cause of this problem is : some women (and men for that matter) have a very mild body makeup. what im trying to say is that some people have more bacteria and such in there body. this is normal but if ur like me, i dont, and my body has a very bad reaction to semen in some of the sexual partners iv had. To cure that, a friend told me to take salt baths. However i found that direct contact with table salt or even douching with warm salt water help almost immediatly. you just have to be careful because the salt, if left on to long, can cause severe dryness and cracking of the skin in that area. this can be really uncomfortable. Also having sex for long periods at a time can cause inflamation. That can also be a very possible reason for the constant yeast infection. Inflamation is like and cut or scrap trying to heal it can itch and be irritable some times. In this case i tried ky but it's more effective if u just talk to your partner about cutting back a little.

Here you can find a very effective natural treatment for diabetes: http://diabete-cure.gelaf.info
Diabetes can be "reversed" or go into "remission". I believe that what that is is decreasing the need to take medications. A person who has diabetes will always have it... but there are cases where a type 2 can either reduce medications or even eliminate them... but will still need to watch diet, get plenty of exercise and keep their weight down. This is called management and control. However, that does not mean that there will never be one. Research has taken huge advances and the more scientists learn about it, the higher likelihood that a cure might come about someday.
While I did recently read an article that stated gastric lap band or gastric bypass MAY be a potential cure, more research is needed and even if this one day is a cure, it would only be effective on type 2s who are obese since neither of those procedures are performed on people who are of normal weight or body mass. Stem cell transplants are still highly controversial and most likely, have a long way to go before it is approved as a diabetes cure by the FDA. Since the vast majority of diabetics are type 2 (roughly 90%), those of us who are type 1 seem to get lost in the shuffle. EMT type 1 for more years than I care to remember, use a pump. Let me add that when I mean diabetes can be controlled and managed without medication but with diet, exercise and weight control, I'm referring to type 2. This is not an option for type 1s, who must take insulin, either by injections or a pump, to survive.

...not sure if this is a serious question or not, but if it is, you may have "chronic yeast infections" because even if treated, you are only 1/2 treating it by passing it back and forth with whomever you are having sex with. Yeast can be a MAJOR issue for men compared to women and men don't often have any symptoms, so be careful.

Yes this will be causing pain with sex if you have yeast. Abstain until the pain and discomfort passes. If your obgyn told you it's teast then they should have given you a strong treatment, no doubt you have had recurring yeast infections and haven't been able to get rid of them with over the counter medication. Your dr can and probably will prescribe and oral fungal agent to take, if not inquire about this and be rid of it . Also have you rfasting blood sugar level checked by your Dr.
