Could be. Depends on the color of the pus. Try using hydrogen peroxide mixed with the same amount of water on it twice a day. Make sure you get it all over the hole. Keep doing this until there is no more pus. If it doesn't work within a few days, you should probably go see a doctor.

Puss is normal in new piercings and is the body's way of flushing out bacteria. Wash you piercing with non scented anti-bacterial soap and don't touch it. Also use watered down hydrogen peroxide two to three times a day. If it's not a new piercing or the puss turns green or dark yellow, is accompanied by a lot of blood, or has a strong odor then it is infected.

Yes. See an urgent care center TONIGHT. Did you do all the care suggested by the piercer? If so, consider an attorney after you do what is suggested below; if not, played with fire and lost.

Usually these infections are just right there at the piercing site "localized". But occasionally they spread through the tissue planes ("regional") and can be life threatining. e.g. can spread to the eye socket or brain. Don't dilly dally, read this and go right now. Heard of the 'flesh-eating bacteria' ? Well some folks really do get that & it could be you. Turn off your computer & get professional opinion right now.

This is why I think lip peircings are so hot. Email me so we can make out. Nothing like a nice puss infected piercing.

Sounds like it is infected but I cannot give Medical Advice but/and if your Mom is a Nurse in SC call her now. Also - if you cannot get to your Doctor tonight try calling your local hospital Emergency Room - ask to speak to a nurse. Usually around 3 or 4 a.m. they slow down and are glad to talk to you.

It is your lip - right - and not your tongue???

YEP! Rubbing alcohol HURTS, use peroxide. It will bubble and feel gross, but USE IT if you want to keep your piercing!!! Use it three or four times a day for a week, if it doesn't clear up, you can either take it out, or go see a Dr and they will prescribe an ointment for you.

For sure, go to a doctor ASAP and remember this for the future, any yellow or green discharge out of any orifice on your body
spells trouble and infection.
