No, that happened in 2003, except for the big as the full Moon bit. From Earth, Mars will never be more than a very bright star to the naked eye.

In August, 2006, the closest Mars will come to Earth is 232,392,825.9 miles (August 1st). THREE YEARS AGO Mars came within 34,646,418 miles of Earth on August 28, 2003, the closest it's been in the last 50,000 years. Regardless of what you've been told, it was NOT as large as the full moon.

Please know that this astrological event had occurred in 2003. For some reason, this email started circulating again in 2005. Not worth your time waking up (or staying up :D) to see the usual night sky unless you are a star-watching enthusiast.
I would recommend the following in checking out the validity of circulating email warnings: http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/m/mars.htm
Best!

I believe so, can't be fake, I mean they can't sell tickets or anything. Unless the telescope companies are hard up. I myself think it will be neater than sh*t!
