Depends on what kind of bedrest you're on? Didn't know there wer different kinds, did ya? Me Neither!! I looked it up:
1)Decreasing your activities:This might mean taking a break from exercising or sex for a few weeks
2)Taking a break. With this type of bed rest, women need to be able to sit down and rest. This might involve taking a leave from work or getting backup help with the care of children at home.
3)A few hours of bed rest each day. Resting on your side increases the blood flow to the placenta, which may be beneficial if a baby isn't growing well.
4)"House arrest". A stricter type of bed rest, where women are essentially confined to the home, with activities limited to puttering around and mostly resting. I call this level of bed rest "house arrest."
5)Strict bed rest is prescribed in some cases, which essentially means lying down all day. Getting up might be limited to going to the bathroom, taking a shower, and preparing a simple meal. The strictest forms of bed rest are usually done in the hospital, with a bedpan instead of bathroom privileges and all personal care provided by the hospital staff.

Best bet would be to honestly ask your Dr., or his/her nurse. I'm sure it's not the first time they've heard the question, and after the amount of your naked body they've been seeing and will see during your pregnancy, I don't see any reason to be embarrassed at all. I mean - they know you do it, otherwise you wouldn't be pregnant in the first place!

Good luck.

Orgasms cause the uterus to contract, something you probably don't want happening right now. Your doctor put you on bed rest because you're a high risk, obviously. Any stenuous work, initiated contractions or contact with the cervix might send you into premature labor and at only 28 weeks, your baby's odds are still iffy.

You should speak to your doctor. There might be other things you and your husband can do for each other that are less stenuous for your body than intercourse.

No don't have sex. I was completely on bed rest for 4 months because my cervix was thinning early. They told me when I would stand up the gravity would pull the baby down more and thin my cervix. So it's not safe to have sex at this point in your pregnancy. You both can wait, it's all worth it don't you think? Keep the baby safe. Once the baby is born you can have all the sex you want. Best of luck!!

Absolutely not....No sex until after the baby is born. You must wait until you are at least 34 weeks to have sex. 3 cm is a lot to be open and if your cervix is thinned out on top of that, you could have this baby at anytime. You must stay in bed and try to get as far as you can in this pregnancy. If you have it now, it would be very hard on the baby.

If you want to 'give' instead of 'receive' you are safe, however, I agree w/ shyshy's answer. Sex stimulates the cervix and helps PUT you into labor which are trying to avoid. Orgasms cause your uterus to contract so avoid that all cost. It's a small price to pay for the reward you are about to receive.

You are going to have to get creative to keep daddy happy - you have a long way to go yet....Good luck mommy to be!

DO NOT HAVE SEX because if they have you on be ret then it isnt safe to be off it so there for having sex will only increase your risk of your cervix opening more which would more then likely cause you to go into premature labor

Absolutely not i had the same issue #1 it is uncomfortable #2 it can cause u to go into premature labor . so i would wait til at least 37 weeks just in case that happens because 37 weeks it still considered full term.

Well, if you feel like it then go ahead! Actually, doctors recommend it so it will be easier to give birth at the end. So just enjoy it! But if you feel any pain, just stop that's all but other than that.. GO AHEAD & ENJOY IT! =)
