I am really trying to be a good Christian but a lot to things about the Bible just don't make much sense to me. First of all, God knows everything, right? So he creates a man and a woman knowing they will definitely screw with him just so he can act all totally surprised about it and go ballistic on them! If God is so smart why didn't he do a better job of creating things he liked? Or does God just have the biggest streak of masochism ever?

I mean, after the grossly dysfunctional Adam and Eve family (who killed each other and had to have been having sex with each other or there would be none of us), God ended up hating absolutely everyone! So he drowned all of them (except Noah and family). And the thing that freaks me out is that he knew he was going to hate and kill all of them even before he created Adam. I mean, do you see a very alarming pattern here of purposefully creating things you know you are going to hate, punish and kill? This just isn't normal --

The violence, pettiness, vindictiveness, and just plain savagery of the bible is more than most people can stand.

That's why they have ministers pick out tiny little parts and only quote the same things over and over and over . . . .

If you want to keep your faith, forget how to think. Unfortunately, that will also be disastrous for the other areas of your life.

Well, if you think you can do better, go for it. Let me know how the whole creating a new universe where everything is perfect works out for you. Gees! Some people are so ungrateful.

There, there.

He stopped being vengeful after The Flood - which is why we have the rainbow. Then, He gives up His Son to ensure death shall have no hold over us.

If you believe in this, then you'll understand that He doesn't need to go on any sort of anger management courses.

LOL!

The Bible is written by humans. It's a reflection upon the beliefs in ancient times. And people still hang on to them today.

God is good. He loves us, no matter what.

It doesn't make sense, does it? I've felt the same exact way. I think he needs anger management. i also have my doubts he exists... there's just too many contradicting and hypocritical aspects to all religions. I hope you find the beliefs that work for you.

God didn't make no robots, dude. There would have been no point in it. And since God loves us (obviously, he created us didn't He?), He wants us to love Him of our own FREE WILL!!!

That is the answer to ALL of your wonderings, dude.

Humans have FREE WILL, God's kindest and most challenging gift to us.

This is why you should look to Marx Brothers movies as your paradigm of hope. They have valuable lessons to teach us.

God's only excuse is he doesn't exist.

Thanks for the hilarious question!

You say you're "really trying to be a good Christian." Maybe you're going aboit it wrong. I would start by reading John's Gospel.

God's only mistake was trusting us enough to give us free will. You just can't trust your kids. They'll screw you every time
