I am the oldest of three children. Sunday night I had a dream that my younger sibling, the second oldest one, fell off of a diving board and drowned. I was disturbed by the dream, but moved on. Then today I found out my friend's child who was the second oldest died from drowning yesterday. Do you think that dream I had was predicting that horrible thing that happend to my friend's child? Or is it just a coincidence?

Normally dreams are replay of thought patterns, some disturbing worries, some emotional feelings of the day, edited with some untold miseries, some aspirations etc. Our brain wants to be relieved of such worry and to release the strain from the brain. Dreams are the process of relieving from such emotional stress with some suggested solutions to pacify the mind. It may be just a coincidence to have things happen the same way dreamt and in the same order. Many people are not able to recollect the dreams of the same night occurring at different spells.

Coincidence.

If you dreamed your friends child drowned, then MAYBE you could say it was a prediction.. But even then, such a thing is unlikely.

Edit (by family member) the same thing has happened to me, i dreamed a conversation that took place later, with the same people, same words etc etc. I had no way of knowing in advance.

I don't consider these dreams but providence

Just coincidence, nothing more! How many times before did you dream about things and they never happened, right? Eventually, one out of hundred of your dreams will be 'reality' and that's all. Simple coincidence! Don't let irrelevant things like dreams control your life!

PS sorry about the child's death! May the kid rest in peace!

Dreams are a collection of your previous thoguhts and experiences. When your dreams play themselves out, they reflect what is likely to happen according to the past information u have gathered. As such, u should not ignore your dreams as they can tell u how to prepare for the future. To answer your question, yes, dreams can tell the future, unless u manage to interpret them and do something about it first.

there is nothing like dream coming true. sometimes we dream what we were thinking before. sometimes subconsciously we think of something which would have registered in our mind. this we get as dreams. these dreams might come true or might not. it is just coincidence. u should not give too much of importance for this.dreams sometimes tell us about our subconscious mind. so, psychologists use our dreams to treat us.

You know, I believe your question has great merit. The factors within your question defy all logic; therefore, any answer may or may not meet your expectations. With that said, I do know dreams cause one to think about life and where he or she are heading.
