That is kind of like asking what is clothing store like. There are sooo many types!

It could be a little hole in the wall dive with just a bar and a seating area. It could be a fancy dance club with lights all over the place. It could be set up like a restaurant. Many have a bar and an out door patio. Many have different levels.

Most bars cater to main stream gays that dress pretty much like straight people. The majority of gay bars are mostly little hole in the wall dives or dance clubs. But then their are also leather bars, drag friendly bars, lesbian bars, and male revue strip clubs.

An important thing to consider is the size of the city. Many gays move to big cities where people are more accepting. Thus a bar can specialize in a subculture like leather and have regular clientele. However a smaller city may not have enough people in to the leather sub culture to open up a strictly leather bar on a full time basis. In that case a local bar(s) will mainly cater to mainstream gays, but will have leather night once or twice a month, or maybe a drag night every once in a while. All the people from miles around that are in to that kind of thing will usualy go and it will be packed.

Hope this helps.

Gay bars, like straight bars, vary. Some are dance bars where there is a DJ and a dance floor, some are piano bars where someone plays music you request, and he or she has a big old tip jar on the piano, so you can show your appreciation. Some serve food too, and have great hamburgers! Some make tons of fancy martinis, and others sell more beer than anything else. Some draw a younger crowd and some draw all ages. Some really are more working class, while in others you'll find a lot of white-collar people.

In short, they are JUST LIKE STRAIGHT bars, except that the majority of the customers are LBGT. Just like straight bars, some draw more men than not. Unlike any straight bar I know, some draw mainly women.

Depends on the bar. And it depends somewhat on the locality as to what range of types of bars you have. Some are just like...friendly neighborhood corner bars with a primarily gay clientele. (some are primarily men, some women, some have more of each). Some are utterly seedy dives that should probably be closed by the health department. Some are what my parents used to call "dirty old man" bars; a slight variation on the neighborhood corner bar, where everyone knows everyone else. Some tend to be really busy, others just have "the regulars". Essentially any atmosphere you can think of for a bar, there's a gay bar equivalent. And I won't even get into gay CLUBS.

Oh, wow. There are so many kinds! Being a woman, I'm one of *few* whenever I visit one, of course, but a lot of straight girls like to go to the more disco-like ones so they can dance with friends and not get harassed. There are a lot of large ones that play house and dance music. Then there are smaller ones. Some are devoted to hip-hop (there are a lot of transient hip-hop ones in NYC, and they are *tough*), some are country and everyone wears cowboy hats and orders beer, some have rock shows, etc.

If you live in a community that is large and liberal (for lack of a better word) enough to support a gay bar or two, there's probably also a newspaper or website--look up the word "gay" with the biggest town near you, and you'll get an idea. Some have websites, too.

No two gay bars that I have visited are the same. On the one side of the spectrum there are bars where the only way you would know that it is gay is by seeing guys holding hands etc. Then there are those with a verycoluorfull, pink, over the top decor. Then there are those with STUDS as barmen, hopefully not too much clothes on. There are leather bars. Well, just like straight bars, all shapes and sizes (even seome very sleazy ones).

Sharm el-Sheikh could be the Sinai Peninsula's major tourism hub and one of the world's top diving destinations and now you may get there your holiday with the aid of that place hotelbye . Sharm el Sheikh is certainly one of Egypt's most readily useful places in the event that you only want to relax on the beach, and it is a chosen by family trips because of the excellent features on offer. Whether you're here for the sand or the fish living, Sharm el-Sheikh is a great selection for a beach separate following exploring the temples and tombs in the remaining country. Also, fringed with a bright sand beach and swaying palm woods, Naama Bay is the epicentre of Sharm el-Sheikh's resort life. You will find numerous restaurants, cafés, and souvenir shops if you get bored of the mud, but Naama Bay is really all about the beach.

Well, lets see. Um.....there are stools and chairs and booths if you like that. There is tons of stuff to drink and all sorts of glass sizes for the drinks. There is usually loud cool music playing. It's sort of dark inside....some lighting but not really bright lights. There are usually a few people behind the bar serving the drinks too. There's an area where you can dance, and areas where you can just talk and drink too. I guess it's sort of like a straight bar BUT WITH GAYS IN IT! (dah)

got an imagination? Think Regular Bar... that's pretty much it.... I have a male friend (yup, gay) who took me to one after I asked him this question a few years ago... the women danced with the women, the men danced with the men... they ALL danced like they were on the bar at the Coyote Ugly, and I stood in the corner, stunned as could be. I'm pretty sure they turned off a few lights, cause they sure could have used the glow from my blush as mood lighting! ...
