I have already asked this question, but alas I got bombarded by liberal ignorance about how come I'm so racist for asking a question about Mexicans! Well, I did word the question a little bluntly but only to be concise. Well, those morons like Mexican_Girl and other ignoarnt libs have done it again They have taken something and complicated it, taking up valuble resources and time. Anyways HERE IS THE QUESTION,"

Why is it that mainstream media is reporting about his condition called hypertrichosis or "wolfitis" however they are doing so by only reporting cases involving those people in the country below the U.S. on the map. It's a genetic disease and it only affects the men in families. I have seen 2 different shows w/2 different families and both were from, um, that country to the south of the US?"

In answer to your question, wolfitis, as it's been termed, is a superfluous growth of hair on part or the entire body. There have been reports of it in Bolivia, and various other countries, but it is still a very rare condition. These people, aside from ridicule and embarassment, live to normal life expectancy, and are healthy human beings in every other aspect. I live in the US and was born with thick black hair on my back, which fell off after about a month or two, and my daughter was born with her forehead completely covered with thick black hair with 2 parts in her forehead. It also fell off in about a week or two, but the outlines of the parts are still there. Many more people get this condition, and it is not limited to just outside of the US, but most people with it, the hair eventually falls off as they grow. For an even rarer few, it stays on till adulthood. Some try to say that it is a latent gene from apes and monkeys to support this occurance, but that just isn't true. Blood types do not match between the species. So suffice it to say that some people are more hairy than others. But it is genetic.

Why are they only reporting on cases which have occurred in Mexico? Well, if it people who are suffering from hypertrichosis were found in Mexico, then that is where it was found, and if they are the two families willing to talk about it on TV, then that is just how it worked out. I don't really understand what there is to wonder about. Maybe these families came to the TV stations, or maybe a program in Mexico ran the story first and then the US media picked up on it as an interesting story and went down there to speak to these people instead of searching within the US for someone to whom they could speak and also who would be willing to appear on camera.

I came here to learn what the condition is and ended up having to go to wikipedia.

Your question is worded such that it is a bit confusing so forgive me if I misunderstand.

You seem to be asking why aren't cases of hypertrichosis reported North of the Mexico-US border? Is that correct?

Quoting from your question, "only reporting cases involving those people in the country below the U.S. on the map."

From that you appear to be asking why the media is trying to make it appear that people south of the border are the only ones who have this condition.

Here's my guess, "They are the same media that prefer to report only negative news about our soldiers in Iraq."

You know, my ex girlfriend (my fiancee is an american who lives in missouri) used to joke that Australia was our colonial prison and USA was our colonial loony bin. A bit strong and lacking credibility in the latter case, as it was englishmen, mainly, who beat their kings troops with the help of the French and 50% of native Americans. But people like you add credence to her Joke/belief. And my own about their being noone so paranoid as a paranoid American.
My credentials established , that I have an American wife to be and I think you have problems, and I'm a left of centre politically with extreme right wing views where I have them, I don't see your problem and in fact am wondering if you want someone to tell you that all of the nationalities that came to comprise the United States are somehow superior to the wetbacks (from swimming the Rio Grande) south of the border, down mexico way.
I think we can safely rule out any racist motives on the part of programme makers in the UK who have made one programme as far as I have seen. For whatever reason, people consider these illustrations of the human condition to be of interest, if only as freak shows. I guess the same applies to some remote tribe that has two toes only to each foot, and to the series on autistic people, most of which the people for these programmes are to be found in the USA. Like the 'severely autistic' woman who's government advisor on animal welfare to the multibillion dollar meat industry.
These type of programmes have always been made. Hypertrichiosis is a genetic problem causing a morbid growth of hair in some families, the majority of whom are in mexico. It's only natural to concentrate one's efforts there rather than travelling the world looking for the few families of a different nationality who have this genetic abnormality. I'm waiting for someone to make a programme on HYPOtrichiosis and explain to me why most north American indians have no facial or chest hair. Look no further that the whole of the american continent, particularly North America & Canada.
It's as simple as that. You may get some bigot who says that all mexicans are sub humans, hence this condition and we don't want subhumans (in search of a better standard of living - no only humans do that) swarming across our border into the US. From you question it's hard to know what you're getting at, as you seem to know the why and the wherefores of hypetrichiosis. By the way, it affects FEMALES as well as males.

I have to tell you a statistic - American study. Over 50% of Americans are illiterate or semi-literate. Only 50% of Americans vote. I'll wager a huge percentage of those wooly minded liberal wackos are the literate ones - you know, you don't find many rednecks as university lectures and graduates with grade A passes. It's usually the educated wooly minded liberals who see the shades of grey that make the world a more complex place than, say your rednecks of all political persuasions, as long as it's republican.
I wonder if it's those who don't read too well who don't vote. Or just vote and get it wrong coz they ain't got the published 'facts'.
Or is it the liberal wacko, who can read and vote and get it wrong, despite having the 'facts'. (seems like they shoot themselves in the foot a lot if they do). There are some more combos yet, but it's late or early here. The salient point is the 50% figures 'coincidence'? And your belief that liberals are uneducated in contradistinction to my belief.

My my, who has an anger management problem? Who's valuable resources and time is being used up here? Yours, and no one else cares, especially after you branded everyone an idiot.

Your question is so full of hate and bluster, it's difficult to see your question.

And what is a 'liberal wacko'? Someone who disagrees with you? Well, looks like everyone here. Must be lonely over there in 'non-liberal wacko' land.

"Wolfittis is a a sexually transmitted disease that you aquire if you have sex with wolfs and similar animals such as dogs, especially if you also eat their feces.

Since only Mexicans show this behavior, they are the only ones to get the disease.

Besides, USA is God's own country and God don't want hes own people to get sick. Mexico is the devil's own country and the devil doesn't care about his people, he just laughs when they slowly die. "

That was the answer you wanted, wasn't it?

I think this liberal subculture is a phase and they will slowly be phased out through abortion, since they are 10 times more likely to have one and a conservative is 2 times more likely to raise a family and pass on their values.

that was a stupid question, i can't believe you got all angry over it and acted like you had a thoughtful political debate to talk about...i mean how the hell am i supposed to know why and who even cares? it is genetic i'm sure, maybe that would be why it is more common in one area.
