I've been getting the same problem with multiple sets of headphones on my mp3 player. They work well for a while, but after a while the sound starts to cut out in one ear. If I twist the jack around just right, the sound comes back. Same with my headset for my cell phone. If it gets knocked, it stops working.
Anyone know what the problem is and if it's with the headphones or the mp3 player? Is it fixable, and if so what do I do?

Its the headphones
all of them eventually do that, unless you have some really good quality ones
They say its because you pull them and bend them too much and the wires on the inside start breaking
thats why it works when you move them around to a certain shape cause it connects the wires
but then you can't move them from that spot because it stops working so you have to hold them together
then they get worse and you buy new ones
It sucks but it happens to me all the time
Buy better quality ones and they should work longer

It's likely the headphones. You get what you pay for. I went through seven or eight pairs a year before I finally plunked down the cash and bought a decent pair. Since then, no problems.
