Morons, social security and other social services are there for US (whether we need it or not), so it is an investment that we can literally get back and use when needed. This war is NOT for us and we CAN'T use it to tangibly help ourselves in any way (other than increase attacks against us)! And I agree that corporations that hire illegals should be prosecuted and welfare should NOT go to them--that's beside the point and learn to focus on the question instead of being distracted all the time!

This war does help us. There have been no other attacks in this country. Two despotic regimes have been ousted and replaced by Democratic governments. The entire world will benefit from having Democracy take hold in Eurasia. 83% of Iraqis want their new government to succeed. We need to be there to make sure it can last longer than 3 months. Afghanistan is still under attack from Taliban forces who want nothing more than to keep control of the country in order to keep control of the heroin market. We definitely need to make sure that does happen. I really don't understand why people don't understand this.

Am I the only one that remembers that Bush said we are going over there to weaken terrorism in the Middle East so as to immobilize it where it originates to weaken the chance of them being able to strike the U.S like they did on 9/11?

Every time Al-Qaeda claims an attack in Iraq they validate what Bush said "We have to crush the terrorists where they originate, so as to make American citizens safer."
