You'll need 2 things an iron and a paper bag, put the paper bag on the wax and set the iron on the hottest temp and iron it for a few sec and the wax should stick to the bag, if all the wax dosn't come off on the first run repeat

Scrape off what you can with a knife or whatever, then use paper towels or brown paper and an iron - not too hot so you don't melt the carpet, and just keep on doing it with clean bits of paper until the wax is off. Make sure there's always a couple of layers of paper between the wax and the iron or you might get wax on the iron surface then get in trouble the next time you iron a piece of clothing! If the wax leaves a coloured stain, I use a product called De-Solv-it (made in Australia) which is citrus based and gets gum, crayon, wax, tar, oil etc out of fabric, kids hair etc

Break off as much as you can and using ice cubes cool the wax to make it brittle and scrape it off with a butter knife. Repeat the process until all of the wax is removed.

DO NOT USE AN IRON ON THE CARPET. That works great on cloth but the temperature that a carpet can stand is not hot enough to "wick" the wax onto paper.

get most of it out with a knife.
Then put some paper towel over it and put an iron at the lowest setting to melt the wax. the wax will transfer to the paper towel and you should have very little wax left on the carpet.
